The funding program is implemented by the financial service provider MLP, which supports academics with financial questions and career planning.

What awaits you at MINT Excellence

This in advance: The MINT Excellence scholarship program includes 31 scholarships and 5 doctoral awards! Every year, 30 scholarships in the categories of Studies, Social and Science worth 3,000 euros each and a special scholarship on the topic of “Corporate IT” with funding of 3,000 euros are awarded. New in the program: promotional prizes. MLP awards five doctoral students with a one-off grant of 5,000 euros. In addition, you will be included in the MINT Excellence network and can exclusively take part in relevant events and specialist events, such as workshops. The events usually take place several times a month and nationwide.

How to apply for the scholarship program

All students at a German university in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology who also meet one of the following requirements can apply for the MINT Excellence scholarship:

• Good or very good performance in your studies
• Social (non-)university commitment
• Special scientific achievements

The doctoral award is aimed at proven, young talents in the MINT subjects. At the time of application, the doctoral certificate should not have been issued more than one year ago and the dissertation should be graded at least “magna cum laude”. Your doctoral thesis should also have an innovative character.

Applications are made through a multi-stage selection process. After your successful application, you will be invited to the MLP campus for the finale. There you will gain practical experience in the assessment center, expand your knowledge in various specialist courses and training courses and make many new contacts. If you impress within this period, you will be accepted into the MINT Excellence scholarship program and receive one of the 31 scholarship holders or one of 5 doctoral prizes!
