When it gets cold outside, we turn on the oven when it's warm. Out come sweet sins. In Vienna and Munich, students have come together to promote the sugar factory on their blogs.
There are 52 cakes per year
Many cooks spoil the broth - this does not apply to bakers. Five students even blog about their favorite recipes on 52kuchen.de . Antonia (25), Gloria (25), Helen (27) and Penelope (23) are studying in Munich, Valerie (25) is currently baking in Paris.
“We five amateur bakers would like to share our love with the world
“We can share cakes, muffins, cookies and the like in a creative way,” explains Antonia, who gave the starting signal for the project. “Readers should be inspired to try out new ingredients and foreign recipes.” The recipes presented also include vegan marble cake and apple-cranberry cookies with oatmeal. The blog has been around since September of this year, and since then a new treat has been added every week.
Get to the ovens
Antonia studies communication and economics. To switch off from the stressful everyday study routine, she stands at the stove. “Stop for a moment, relax while kneading the dough and then the next day give not only yourself, but also your family, friends and colleagues a delicious break from everyday life,” the student explains her goal. She takes turns baking with sociology student Gloria, junior dentist Helen and psychology student Penelope. Every few weeks everyone is asked to bake a recipe and take photos for the readers.

The Viennese confectioners
The finest confectionery works of art come from Vienna, the coffee houses have a long tradition and the Sachertorte is world-famous. The two business students Christina (24) and Nicole (25) also live in the imperial city. When the two bakers are not busy studying at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, the self-confessed sweet tooth meets up to come up with new recipes. The friends have known each other since their early childhood days, and their blog Zuckerstueck.at went online in 2012.
Piece of sugar sweetens your life
Her main interest is in sharing her own baking experience with other hobby bakers and getting people excited about the sweet life. Christina fondly remembers a reader and his comment: “He wrote that he finally enjoyed baking thanks to our blog and that the recipes have always been successful.” Because each preparation step is explained in detail and accompanied by a series of photos. Exciting recipes for Raffaelot cake, poppy seed chocolate minis and carrot cake with cream cheese frosting are also being actively discussed and liked on Facebook. Although graduation is imminent, sugaring, powdering and kneading will continue to be an important part of Christina and Nicole's lives.
