Studieren und Feiern

Studying and private life: How to reconcile both

Studying is one of the most important phases in life before you start the rigors of everyday working life. For quite a few people, their future depends on this. Especially if you have set yourself high goals, such as getting a master's degree or something similar. During your studies you get to know different types of people. There is a target group that doesn't care about anything and is just partying all the time, the type of students who give up their private life to study for exams all day and then there is the type of student who manages to combine both .

During your studies, just like before, you have to be careful who you make friends with so that you don't end up on the wrong career path. Especially when it comes to such an important degree, you should put yourself first. Even if not every subject in your studies goes smoothly, you don't have to worry. This knowledge can be compensated for with the help of the tutorials offered internally or via an online tutoring platform.

In this article we'll take a look at why it's important not to neglect your private life and how you can easily combine it with your studies.

Good time management is the be-all and end-all

The fact that you no longer have a private life while studying is only partly true. Because with good time management you can carve out a few hours a week. Certain courses of study, such as medicine or law, are of course an exception.

However, it is important to find a good balance between studies and free time. Lists are the first big step. Even though it may be a bit annoying at first, to-do lists are worth their weight in gold. The tasks that arise should be noted there every day. Ideally, you create e.g. B. use an Excel table to create a task and learning list. You then enter fixed times into this to study for an exam. It is more effective to study for two hours every day instead of studying for 8 hours every day a few weeks before the exam. It is not possible for the brain to work efficiently and effectively over such a long period of time.

If you work through your list consistently every day and stick to your study times, you can use the rest of the day for hobbies, friends and parties without feeling guilty. By creating lists and setting timers, you will have achieved a lot more at the end of the day than if everything was done spontaneously.

The most important point is always: just start. This is particularly popular in the area of stocks and ETFs. People plan for months or even longer than a year which stocks or ETFs they should invest in. During that time, someone else simply did this and is therefore already 12 months richer than the person who analyzed everything. The same applies to time management: just start.

Breaks and free time are essential for both the brain and the body. Of course, you shouldn't drink yourself into a coma every weekend. Nevertheless, meeting friends strengthens the social component and the body can relax from studying. At the beginning of your studies, the famous first semester celebration is often offered, which you shouldn't miss. Primarily you can find connections there and make contacts, which can become an important part of your studies.
