The plot
Moses (Christian Bale) and Ramses (Joel Edgerton) grow up together in the Egyptian pharaoh's family. Moses himself was found in a river as a child and is actually not Egyptian. While Ramses later becomes Pharaoh, Moses turns against his friend and takes the side of the oppressed Israelites. They are forced to work as slaves in Egypt to build the pyramids. When Ramses refuses to give in, his country is hit by seven plagues and Moses leads 400,000 slaves out of punished Egypt.
