We are world champions 2014! Götze, Neuer and Co. finally gave us the long-awaited summer fairy tale last year. You'll soon have the opportunity to feel like a world-class footballer: the football madness has also cast its spell on campus sports.
Every year, university teams compete against each other at international level. The whole thing culminates in an event that is a highlight for many students during their studies: the Private Cup.
Why is the private cup so hot?
The private cup has been held since 2004. This is a tournament in which mainly private universities from all over the world take part.
Year after year the private cup becomes more and more bombastic. The organizers are expecting more than 60 international university teams and their fans this year – a campus sport in a class of its own. Over the last few years, the Cup Der Privaten has developed into more than just a football event.
Over the course of the four days of the tournament, participants will be offered an unforgettable program. It's not just about campus sports in the form of a sporting competition, but also about cultural exchange, new friendships, and strong networking among students and alumni
In recent years, participating teams have included Oxford Brookes, ESEI Barcelona, Hochschule St. Gallen, Munich Business School, BiTS Iserlohn, IBS Berlin, HEC Paris and other globally recognized business schools. In order to support and present their university, most teams are accompanied to Berlin by numerous fans. This year, the European Sports and Culture Association is pleased to welcome up to 2,000 European students to Berlin.
