Use the akademika job fair in spring to talk to potential employers! This year, southern Germany's largest job fair - the akademika - will take place again in the Nuremberg exhibition center on May 23rd and 24th.
The approximately 160 exhibitors - from medium-sized family businesses to global corporations - have lots of job offers, trainee positions, internships and topics for theses with them. They are specifically looking for students, graduates and young professionals from all disciplines. The focus is on the departments of engineering, computer science and economics - but all other departments are also welcome and sought after.
Free shuttle service
In order to meet your target group, akademika offers a variety of visitor services - and all of them free of charge. The most important thing for out-of-town students are the free shuttle buses. The shuttles take visitors to the trade fair and back so that students outside of Nuremberg don't miss this event. The shuttle buses start from Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Saxony, Thuringia and Austria. It makes sense to register in advance via the homepage .
Info package
Even before visiting the trade fair, if desired, visitors are prepared with an information package on the most important points that should be taken into account at a professional job fair: with tips on clothing, application documents and time planning as well as a hall plan, trade fair catalog and list of exhibitors. So you can concentrate on what's important - the discussions with employers.
akademika highlighted
Different colors symbolize the disciplines studied or sought. The system, dubbed “akademika highlighted”, enables exhibitors and visitors to quickly orientate themselves. Engineers, computer scientists, economists, etc. can identify companies that are interesting to them at a glance, just as companies can see from their visitor badge whether the candidate is interesting for their company. So nothing stands in the way of starting a conversation quickly.
Job wall
On the job wall you can find a wide variety of job offers, from working student jobs to topics related to the final thesis to direct entry. An excellent starting point for visitors looking for a little breather, new ideas or just a succinct way to start a conversation.
Application document check
Every visitor to the akademika should already have the short version of the application documents (curriculum vitae) with them in their pocket. However, if there are still uncertainties in this regard, the application document checks, which are offered free of charge, can help. These are carried out either by application coaches or HR staff from the issuing companies. The professionals point out errors in the documents and give tips for improvement. Registration for the free dates takes place in advance of the trade fair via the homepage .
Coaching your career
Career coaching is offered for those who are unsure about their future career. In a personal conversation with an experienced coach, your previous CV is examined and an individual career plan is then created. Filled with new ideas, you can then continue at the trade fair and perhaps find the right contact person straight away.
Social media check
In order for the dream job to become tangible, all obstacles must be removed. Social media such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. are neglected by many and are now used as a good source of information for applicants. In the social media check, the web profile is checked and the candidate receives tips on how to behave there can position better. In addition, networks are presented where you can present yourself as an expert and network in industry-related circles.
Free application photos
The offer for young academics is rounded off with professional and, of course, free application photos from the cooperation partner aud!max. Professional pictures are taken on site - if you forget to put on a jacket despite the information package, you will be loaned one - and then sent to the trade fair via email.
The Battle For Talent
New to the lecture forums this year: akademika – The Battle For Talent. Exhibitors fight for the best minds! In a moderated round, 5 companies ask themselves 5 burning questions. The company representatives' answers may not be longer than one minute and are then evaluated by the audience - at the end an overall winner is determined. Here applicants have the opportunity to turn the tables and also receive answers to the most important questions in the application process.
