Another presentation that's like any other and makes you fall asleep?
Stop it! There are many little tips that can help you delight your audience and make you appear confident.
A secure posture is the basis
A secure stand is the prerequisite for a confident presentation. Stand with your feet hip-width apart (careful: not too wide apart) and distribute your weight evenly. You also avoid swaying from one side to the other. The arms should hang loosely along the body and not be crossed in front of the chest. The best way to practice correct gestures and facial expressions is in front of a mirror. You will quickly notice what a difference just a slight smile makes. You only appear convincing if your presentation matches your body language.
Captivate your audience!
Of course, the content is also crucial. You can give this that certain something with an appealing introduction and perhaps even an unusual ending. Images, PowerPoint, Prezi and everything else out there should be used, if possible, to support you and not at every point in your presentation. You certainly don't want to overwhelm the audience. (And if something goes wrong with the technology, you won't panic if the presentation isn't available.) Never use these presentations as a central theme for your presentation. This belongs on lecture cards that you should hold in your hand.
If you fill your talk with suspense like a story, the audience can't help but follow you expectantly. The most important thing should be conveyed in the first 7 minutes, when attention is at its highest and whet the appetite for what is to come.
For further tricks that can give your presentation more shine, we would like to recommend the Diplomero course “How do I optimize my appearance in front of an audience” by Isabel Florido.
Have fun at your next lecture!
For every successful presentation, there are a few aspects to take into account as a basis. If you don't have this, even the best content won't save you.
