The nice thing about the campus in Passau is that it is compactly located on the Inn, which means that all the faculties are nearby and that specifically means: the campus is over a kilometer long.
But the campus will soon be relocated a little, i.e. expanded: Students in Passau will probably flock to the 5,000m2 Löwenbrauerei site in the near future, because the university is planning to build administrative wings, seminar rooms and lecture halls there. If everything is approved promptly, construction could begin as early as 2016 – we are excited!
5. Interesting facts Curiosities, curious facts worth knowing
Finally, a few curiosities that often surprise students in Passau: Take, for example, the red, typically British telephone box that is located near the Audimax. If you feel the urge to make a phone call there, you don't even need to try - the place hasn't been usable since July.
If you walk from the central library to the WiWi, some students in Passau have certainly noticed the green bridge, the so-called Philosophensteig, which seems to disappear into the green nowhere. And that's exactly what it does: Built in 1987, the bridge was actually supposed to lead to the city center, but the planned high path was never built for administrative reasons. 330,000 DM costs that were literally invested in nothing, but maybe you'll find a secret portal or something - that's worth exploring!
