Press release from the Mainz University of Applied Sciences
Exhibition “Operation: Transformation”
The exhibition “Operation: Transformation” presents, in cooperation with the University Medical Center Mainz, exhibits that were formed from hospital operating waste materials: kidney trays, gauze bandages and pacemakers find a new area of application here. Instructions for use for surgical devices serve as inspiration for printmaking work, Surgical blankets and infusion tubes are shaped into sculptures.
Material transformations are shown - artistic approaches by students of the Communication Design course at Mainz University of Applied Sciences to inaccessible and unusual "working materials" - far from sterile clichés or hesitant movements that one would otherwise only find on antiseptic PVC floors.

Where: Foyer of the Mainz University of Applied Sciences, Holzstr. 36
