Day expeditions into professional life
In the jungle of almost unlimited study and career options, the choice is often difficult. Which field of study is the right one and which career is right for me? The “Expedition Economy” initiative offers opportunities to try out exactly this.
CONTACT WITH THE PROFESSIONAL WORLD
The Economics Expedition enables students to get to know a profession for a day. In this way, students gain practical experience and also make contacts with potential employers. Auditors from all over Germany are the hosts and mentors of these day internships. Because no one has a deeper insight into the inner workings of many companies.
WHAT IS NOT IN THE CAREER GUIDE
Students gain experience, for example by accompanying an audit team on client visits and gaining insight into the working world of the company, or during background discussions with seniors or with young professionals during the lunch break.
WHO CAN JOIN?
Students of business-related subjects are allowed to take part from the first semester. Registering online is free and only takes a few minutes. They then receive the PraktiCard, which they can use to go on day expeditions throughout Germany. With a click of the mouse, you select an auditing firm in your area and make an appointment for the day internship.
In the blog and on Facebook there are also useful tips about business, studies and career orientation.

TWO JOBS IN ONE DAY
Interview with Jannike Stöhr, job tester, author, coach
How do I find a job that suits me?
Being able to contribute your talents is an essential prerequisite for this. But to do this you first have to know what you are good at! Experimentation is a good way to find out. That's why I like the expedition economy because it enables exactly that.
You yourself spent a day with auditors. How was it for you?
I accompanied a team of auditors who were on site at the client - a power cable manufacturer - and checked the internal control system there. So I was given two jobs in one day, which I found quite interesting.
What did you imagine would be different before your expedition?
What surprised me was that the auditors talk a lot to employees of the client company in order to obtain information. That’s why auditors really have to be communicative and able to work in a team, otherwise it won’t work.
