Nachhaltige Mobilität – Baden-Württemberg macht’s vor und du kannst mitwirken

Sustainable mobility – Baden-Württemberg is leading the way and you can get involved

The daily commute to university somehow seems to be getting longer and longer: your apartment is not exactly close to campus for cost reasons and that means getting up early and using different means of transport. First take the bus to the train, then get back on the bus at your destination and you're finally there.

Or do you cover the daily route by car? With the Metro? There are many different options and all of them cost time, money and emit CO2. The state of Baden-Württemberg has therefore launched the New Mobility: Move Sustainably campaign.

Sustainable mobility as the main goal of the MVI

This campaign by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (MVI) aims to provide information about a variety of transportation methods. The key word here is “sustainable mobility”: mobility needs should be met, infrastructure and vehicles should be comfortable, safe and attractive. At the same time, the aspects of sustainability and environmental protection are particularly essential transport policy goals of the state government .

Sustainable mobility should be made visible and applicable to people. In order to put this project into practice, the mobility calculator was developed.

Get from A to B more sustainably with the mobility calculator

Do you want to know how much your daily commute to university or work costs you in time, money and CO2 emissions? This isn't a problem with the free mobility calculator : you simply enter your data and you'll get the answers you're looking for.

  1. You choose the means of transport you use to get around
  2. You enter the distance and travel time
  3. Depending on the means of transport, you will still have to answer details such as car occupants, ticket type, etc
  4. Zack, you already have your answer
  5. You can also create multiple variants

The mobility calculator not only shows you how much your daily journey costs you per month, but also compares different routes with each other. You can use a clear table to find out which route is best. The mobility calculator also shows you possible mobility alternatives in comparison .

In summary, this is individual mobility advice with concrete information on time and financial costs as well as environmental pollution, including better alternatives. It couldn't be more practical, right? So go ahead, test the mobility calculator now!
