Sure, Munich itself is worth seeing enough, but as a student you might feel like doing something different after a long time. So how about a little trip to the Munich area? There are beautiful destinations nearby that are a must-see! Here are the top 5.

Neuschwanstein Castle

Everyone has heard of it or seen it in pictures: the breathtaking Neuschwanstein Castle, which is one of the most visited castles in the world. Why this magnificent structure is definitely worth a visit hardly needs to be explained in more detail: the castle looks like it has come out of a fairy tale, depending on the season it stands out from the lush green, flowering or colorfully colored seas of foliage, and in winter it thrives the white blanket of snow is almost enchanting.

For students, entry to the castle costs 11 euros, which is definitely very affordable.

Tegernsee

It is about 50 kilometers from Munich - the Tegernsee. Especially now, with slightly warmer temperatures, the lake is a very beautiful travel destination - and enjoying nature is completely free. Whether hiking, swimming, diving; There is something for everyone here. You can even go ballooning here if you want! A walk around the lake followed by cooling off and a delicious dinner in one of the surrounding restaurants with a lake view - well, how does that sound?

Weihenstephan Gardens

The Weihenstephan Gardens are located in Freising, not far from the center of Munich. If you want to enjoy nature, you should definitely come here for a walk and fully enjoy the splendor of flowers on offer here. Whether you're a flower lover, a vegetable lover or perhaps even a hobby gardener: there's something for every nature fan here!

Legoland

There is something for real action fans about 1.5 hours by car from Munich: Legoland in Günzburg! Whether you've been there as a child or it's your first visit: you're never too old for fun. Perfect for a day tour in spring/summer, the adventure paradise offers a lot of fun and a variety of rides that you definitely shouldn't miss! What you can conjure up with Lego...

Salzburg

... and we're in Austria! It sounds like a long journey, but it takes just under 1.5 hours to get there - and this city is truly breathtakingly beautiful. The relatively short journey time even allows for a day trip, but if you have a little more time you can easily enjoy a few days here. Explore the city, climb the castle, take a walk along the Salzach and feast on Austrian specialties - off to the land of Kaiserschmarrn and curd dumplings!

The warmer the temperatures, the shorter the skirts. But if it gets too hot for you in Munich, it's worth taking a detour to the surrounding area!
