herCAREER presents:
Amorelie founder Lea-Sophie Cramer: 'With role models for equality!'
Lea-Sophie Cramer shows that gender does not have to be a detrimental factor when it comes to a career: in 2013, in her mid-20s, she founded AMORELIE, an online shop for stylish erotic lifestyle items. Today the startup is one of the most up-and-coming e-commerce companies in recent memory. In addition to the products on offer - selected love toys, sexy lingerie and sensual soft bondage accessories - it is above all the staff structure that makes AMORELIE so successful. Gender, origin or sexuality don't matter: whoever fits the job perfectly gets it.
“The distribution of men and women in leadership positions remains unbalanced. We are therefore very proud of the balanced gender ratio at AMORELIE. There are as many women as men at management level - to be honest, but not through a quota, but because we have hired the best person for the position, regardless of gender. In my personal career, I myself have considered my 'being a woman' compared to e.g. B. male colleagues never even consider or question things. Nevertheless, I see that we have not yet arrived at an ideal of an equal society. Women are far, far, far behind both on supervisory boards and executive boards, as well as when setting up companies, etc. - we have to do something about this with role models. We maintain a very international team structure for AMORELIE because we feel that this enriches the corporate culture. Different linguistic influences and cultural backgrounds are a source of inspiration for colleagues and enable new perspectives, which is ultimately also reflected in the AMORELIE living environment.”
