Under the motto “Tasty, cheap and fast” we want to cook with you every two weeks.
And today a Hawaiian pizza is on the table. Even if the Italian restaurant around the corner might be quicker, making your own pizza is a lot more fun. Especially if you invite a few friends over. It's not really difficult either and with a little practice you'll quickly get the hang of it and be able to put together your own pizza according to your own preferences.
Ingredients:
For the yeast dough:
500g flour
1 tsp salt
20 g fresh yeast
190 ml lukewarm water, 2 tbsp olive oil
For the pizza topping:
1-2 slices of cooked ham
100-150 g pineapple (fresh, 1cm pieces or alternatively canned)
60-70 g mozzarella and some parmesan
1-2 teaspoons olive oil
For pizza sauce:
200g fresh tomatoes
Garlic (to taste)
fresh basil and oregano (to taste)
1 large onion
2 spoons of olive oil
This is how the yeast dough is made:
- Sift the flour and then add the salt
- Make a well and crumble the yeast into it
- Knead the flour and yeast with 7 tablespoons of water and let it rise, covered, in a warm place for about 15 minutes until cracks form in the dough
- Knead the dough well with the remaining water and olive oil for about 10 minutes
- Then cover the dough again and let it rise in a warm place for about 20 to 30 minutes until it is twice as big as before
This is how the sauce is made:
1. Cut the tomatoes into small cubes
2. Cut the garlic into coarse pieces, wash the herbs well and chop finely
3. Halve and peel the onion
4. Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over high heat, add the garlic and fry briefly
5. Add the tomatoes and legal ingredients to the pot
6. Cook the sauce over low heat for at least 30 minutes
7. Remove the onion halves from the sauce
8. Season the sauce to taste
Preparation of the Hawaiian pizza:
1. Roll out the yeast dough on a tray and spread it with the reduced tomato sauce
2. Cut the mozzarella into small pieces and distribute evenly over the dough together with the parmesan
3. Cut the ham into pieces and distribute evenly over the pizza
4. Spread the pineapple pieces over the pizza so that they are on top of both the ham pieces and the cheese
5. Spread olive oil over the pizza
6. Bake the pizza at 180-200 degrees for 30-45 minutes.
Have fun preparing Hawaiian pizza!
And enjoy your meal!
