Delicious, cheap and quick: a light fruit salad

Under the motto “Tasty, cheap and fast” we want to cook with you every two weeks.

And since strawberries are sold on every corner right now, it would be a sin to miss out on this vitamin bomb.
So to start today, a light fruit salad. Strawberries taste perfect with all kinds of fruits and berries, so you can basically experiment as you like to find out new flavors.

You need:

4 large kiwis
375g strawberries
2 large peaches

For the sauce:

3-4 spoons of orange juice
1-2 spoons of lemon juice
2 spoons of orange liqueur
1-2 spoons of sugar

Preparation:

1. Peel the kiwis and cut them into rings. Carefully wash the strawberries and greens in a bowl with plenty of cold water. Remove the greens from the strawberries and cut the berries into 4 pieces.
Place the peaches in boiling water for a few seconds and then immediately in cold water. This makes it much easier to remove the skin.

2. Remove the skin from the peaches and cut the flesh into halves. Remove the peach stone and cut the flesh into medium-sized pieces. Mix all the fruits in a bowl.

3. For the sauce: heat all the ingredients at a low temperature (until the sugar is dissolved). Turn off the sauce and let it cool. Then add it to the salad and let it steep for five minutes.

Chef's tip:

Instead of the sauce, you can also use low-fat fruit yogurt with a pinch of fried turmeric.

So, our vitamin bomb is ready: something for the eyes and the stomach in one.
