herCAREER: Networking right up to top management

In recent years, the herCAREER career fair has developed into THE networking platform for women interested in careers: more than 200 exhibitors and 5,000 visitors are expected at the fair on October 11th and 12th, 2018 . A survey by Focus-Business “Salary & Career” in cooperation with Statista has shown that herCAREER is one of Germany’s top career fairs.

A visit to herCAREER pays off for students and graduates. With a valid student ID and prior online registration, entry to the herCAREER trade fair and travel to Munich with FlixBus are even free. More information is available here .

Over 250 role models are involved in the trade fair and the herCAREER@Night networking event, including numerous women from the MINT environment, but also men who are committed to equal opportunities. Included are, among others:

  • the heart surgeon Dr. med. Dilek Gürsoy, who was the first woman in Europe to insert a complete artificial heart into a patient and is currently co-developing a new artificial heart as part of a start-up;
  • Anna Kopp, Director IT Germany - Area Capabilities Lead at Microsoft Germany; Katharina Kreitz, mechanical engineer and founder of a company that wants to build the world's smallest flow probe;
  • Lea-Sophie Cramer, founder of Amorelie, the online shop for erotic lifestyle products;
  • Heidi Stopper, former human resources director at ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG, now coach and successful entrepreneur; numerous representatives of media such as manager magazin, Emotion and myself.

Attractive employers provide insights

Last but not least, there are numerous attractive employers present at herCAREER who provide exciting insights from HR and comprehensive insights into the corporate culture and future working environments. This is knowledge that cannot be conveyed through any career website or job advertisement. But there is room for this at herCAREER: For example, companies report in MeetUps about how they support employees in career planning, for example in the form of mentoring programs, further training and offers for career changers.

The herCAREER program also includes the exciting story of a young woman who originally studied psychology and acquired programming skills along the way. But typical of a woman: she wouldn't have applied to any employer with the qualifications she had acquired. She was first recommended through a network and then actually got a job. Today she is a permanent programmer. At herCAREER, she wants to encourage other women to apply for a job even if they don't meet the requirements 100 percent.

Share knowledge and build networks

HerCAREER focuses on the exchange and sharing of knowledge and networking like no other career fair. The trade fair makes role models visible, is based on scientific findings such as the confidence gap and addresses entry into IT/programming. Visitors can also take advantage of the opportunity to address companies about digitalization, for example how it changes the business case and how employees can help accompany the company during the transformation. herCAREER wants to show how companies and qualifications change as a result of digitalization, and therefore also focuses on labs, accelerators and hubs that are particularly relevant for female founders.

99 percent of visitors recommend herCAREER without reservation. The trade fair is the hot spot for all women - depending on their phase of life, for job hunting, personal development or even starting a business. herCAREER promotes exchange, creates networking opportunities and, above all, makes women in role model roles not only visible but also approachable.

Extensive lecture and talk program

Around 250 MeetUps and job offer talks with more than 200 insiders, role models and experts are waiting for visitors. In over 60 lectures, discussions and keynotes, participants benefit from the experiences of renowned personalities. New this year are the topics of legal (advice), finance, money and pension provision.

As a further highlight, participants at the evening and networking event herCAREER@Night have access to personalities from politics, business and science as sparring partners who want to specifically support women in their career planning. The table captains are:

State Secretary Juliane Seifert from the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs,
Katja Kraus, former top footballer and managing partner of the sports marketing agency Jung von Matt/sports,
Daniela Mündler, Member of the Management Board Bahlsen GmbH & Co. KG
and many more ...

At www.her-career.com/atNight you can find out who the table captains are, you can order tickets and students can take part in the poster campaign for a free ticket.

herCAREER 2018 will take place on October 11th and 12th, 2018 in Munich. Further information about the career fair for women is available at www.her-career.com and on Twitter @her_CAREER_de, #herCAREER, Instagram #herCAREER.
