The film WE ARE THE NEW shows in an amusing and captivating way the conflicts between different generations, but also the advantages that it has - when the conflicts are finally overcome - when different generations come together under one roof. On December 18th, the film by director Ralf Westhoff ( SHOPPEN, THE LAST BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN DAYS ) will be released on DVD and Blu-ray™. That's why we're giving away a DVD and a Blu-ray™ of WE ARE THE NEW . To take part, write to us by December 18, 2014 and tell us about your most beautiful shared apartment conflict , either by email to gewinnspiel@uniglobale.de or as a PM on Facebook. Please be sure to include your address so that the film can make its way to you before Christmas. We'll keep our fingers crossed!
For all shared apartment enthusiasts, here is a little foretaste of WE ARE THE NEW .
Shared apartments are in and have been for a long time. If you share an apartment with others, you save on rent, utilities and food. In addition, living is generally more sociable: people eat, drink, celebrate and learn together. That's exactly what the three former students Anne (Gisela Schneeberger), Eddi (Heiner Lauterbach) and Johannes (Michael Wittenborn) experienced when they were studying in the 1970s. And that's why, when they're over 60, they move back into an apartment in Munich. In their imagination, it will be like it used to be: sitting together until late at night, drinking and philosophizing about life. Unfortunately, the reality looks a little different, also because of today's student shared apartments living above them. Katharina (Claudia Eisinger), Barbara (Karoline Schuch) and Thorsten (Patrick Güldenberg) primarily learn together and the other positive effects of living together - eating, drinking, celebrating, etc. - are unfortunately neglected. They feel disturbed by the loud and funny pensioners' shared apartment. Problems are therefore inevitable and do not take long to appear.
