Do it yourself: newspaper clock

On Ms. Favorite's blog you will find many other beautiful homemade things , here you can find out how to make your own newspaper clock.

You need this:

  • Magazines
  • Scissors
  • Liquid glue
  • felt
  • Clockwork + hands (hand wavelength about 20 mm)

That's how it works:

First, carefully tear the individual pages out of the magazines and fold them over about a centimeter along the long side. Do this until you are about halfway down the page. There you cut off the part that has not yet been folded over.

Now you have a slightly firmer strip. Carefully glue the last folded layer to the strip, this will give the whole thing more strength later. The edges are painted smooth. You should make sure that the paper does not break.

Next, the top side of the strip is completely coated with glue and then rolled up around a pin like a snail. The whole thing now needs to be pressed down well and allowed to dry briefly. You can then pull out the pen.

The new strip is now coated with glue again and placed at the end of the first strip and rolled up. Make sure the other strips are glued edge to edge, otherwise the hands can get stuck later.

With each stripe the spiral gets bigger. Repeat step 4 until your watch is big enough.

Finally, cut a strip of felt and glue it around the clock. Now the clockwork with the hands is inserted and the upcycled clock is ready!
