From eurythmy to civic participation
Everyone has heard of absurd degrees. Most people know Oaksterdam University in Holland, where cannabis breeding is taught, or the former pop culture course at the University of Baltimore. But there are also some strange courses of study in Germany. Especially when it comes to master's courses, German universities have shown themselves to be creative and have come up with all sorts of unusual specializations, of which Uniplaces presents the 5 most interesting.
Certified Olympic expert (MA)
The German Sports University Cologne trains students in “Olympic Studies”. The aim is to teach bachelor students from all possible academic disciplines about the history, ethical background, but also international relations and commercialization of the Olympic Games. The International Olympic Committee supports the course.
Football Gardener (MAL)
Anyone who has always dreamed of pulling the strings in the background at the big football tournaments can learn this in the “Sustainable Lawn Management” master’s program at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. In addition to management skills, students are taught the ability to evaluate “grass requirements” in order to meet the ever-increasing usage requirements for grassy soils.
