The 80s have been around for a while now. Not just musically, but also in terms of fashion and hairstyles. A good opportunity to make clear commitments when it comes to shirts. Except Modern Talking, everything is allowed: manta rays, cassettes, mullets and schnauzers, quartz watches, Rocky, brown bear… You just have to wear it with confidence. A little background knowledge about the 80s
If, in addition to your self-confident outfit, you also want to impress with interesting facts, take a look back into the history of shirts: The T-shirt was originally intended as an undershirt and was created with the first knitting machines during the period of industrialization in the USA. It was particularly popular in the Navy as an item of clothing under the uniform because it could be washed quickly. But Marlon Brando and James Dean made the T-shirt suitable for the masses in their films by showing it off as a matter of course. After the invention of screen printing, political statements were increasingly emblazoned on chests in the 1970s. Record covers of popular bands or psychedelic motifs were also presented to the public. Ramones fans in particular were known for their incredible love for their favorite band's shirts. In the 80s, sports brands discovered the advertising potential of T-shirts and stuck their trademark across the chest. And in the 90s, the indestructible garment even made it onto the catwalk; Chanel was the first high-class fashion label to send its models outside with the CC logo. So when you wear a t-shirt, you are wearing real textile history.
