Time for new clothes! Levi's equips you with the latest fashion trends

Summer, sun, sunshine, hurrah - yes, it's only May, but after a very wintry March we were rewarded with an early onset of summer. That means: Get out of your winter clothes and into airy clothes! Our favorite for warm temperatures are the soft cotton shirts from Levi's, which are so comfortable on the skin, even in hot weather. How best to combine them? We have a few ideas.

Shirt + long jeans: It's really warm when the sun is shining, but once the last rays have disappeared, it quickly gets cold. The classic Levi's jeans are ideal because they cut a great figure, are comfortable and warm. It doesn't have to be the classic blue jeans either - models in black are also an eye-catcher.

Shirt + long shorts: If you like the wind blowing around your bare calves, slightly longer shorts are a good idea. A model in light blue looks summery and fresh and can be easily combined with different shirt colors.

Spring/Summer 2018 Collection: Levi's delves into the age of hip-hop

Do you love retro, especially references to the 80s/90s? Then look forward to the new spring/summer collection from Levi's, because it represents exactly this spirit, or more precisely: the beginnings of streetwear style in New York and the Bronx. Influences from hip-hop, street fashion and logo culture are clearly visible in Levi's new clothing. The men of creation are offered, among other things, faded denims, graphic shirts or jackets, influenced by the surf, skate and punk influences of the West Coast.

Five things about Levi's you probably didn't know

Everyone knows Levi's denim products, but do you know about the company's big milestones? We'll tell you a few of them:

  • The founder of Levi's, Levi Strauss, is a Bavarian by birth. He moved to San Francisco during the gold rush and opened a textile goods store there in 1853.
  • 1873 is the birth year of the famous blue jeans, which Strauss invented together with the tailor Jacob Davis. By the way, the blue jeans were originally called XX.
  • In 1934, the first jeans for women, Lady Levi's, were offered. It was made of pre-washed denim and looked extremely feminine thanks to its high cut with a narrow waist, despite the sturdy fabric.
  • In 1960, Levi's opened its first factory in the southern United States and campaigned for the integration of African Americans. At that point, desegregation was not even up for debate in federal law.
  • In 1999, Time magazine named blue jeans, also known as 501 jeans, the fashion product of the century.

How environmentally friendly are the legendary Levi's jeans actually?

Sustainability and environmental protection affect each of us, so you should also pay attention to this when buying clothes. The manufacturing process for Levi's jeans, for example, uses significantly less water. Additionally, energy consumption in Levi's stores and distribution centers has been greatly reduced thanks to more efficient lighting and air conditioning. Levi's is currently researching new transport routes to minimize CO2 emissions.

Levi's also promotes sustainably grown Better Cotton and even gives customers a simple washing tip: wash Levi's clothes in cold water, line dry - and generally wash less, if possible.
