The story
In the rugged wilderness of the Wind River Indian Reservation, US Wildlife Agent Cory Lambert finds the body of an abused young girl. The murder reminds him of the death of his own daughter. The FBI sends Agent Jane Banner, fresh out of training, to investigate the case. But she is not prepared for the harsh weather of the prevailing winter and the associated isolation and hires Lambert as a tracker and guide to help her with the investigation. Together they penetrate deep into an area characterized by latent violence and the elements.
