What (big) faux pas have you ever made?
The story
In PLAN B - FUCK PLAN A, Can (Can Aydin), Phong (Phong Giang), Cha (Cha-Lee Yoon) and U-Gin (Eugene Boateng) are best friends and at the same time the most unsuccessful action star wannabes this side of Hollywood. But when they unexpectedly receive a casting offer, it's their last chance to finally show what they're really capable of. It's just stupid that U-Gin swapped the address. So the boys don't end up in the casting they had hoped for, but clearly in the wrong film - because they unexpectedly run into a group of tough gangsters who take Phong hostage and send the others on a murderous mission. In exchange for Phong's life, they are supposed to find the feared crime boss's secret safe. In a race against time, the boys fight their way from one faux pas to the next across Berlin and soon realize that they have ended up at the center of an underworld conspiracy from which there is no easy way out.
PLAN B – FUCK PLAN A proves that Germany can also do world-class martial arts. There's not only a lot of fun for the twelve, but also a lot of fun for the funny muscles. As a homage to the action flicks of the '80s and '90s, PLAN B combines cool sayings, artistic fights, lots of self-irony and a nostalgic retro soundtrack to create an explosive cocktail that is guaranteed to burn twice. Thanks to the self-confidently multicultural cast, the setting in trendy, hip Berlin, and various cameos from, for example, KIZ and the Atzen, young viewers in particular get their money's worth, for whom Stallone, Seagal and Van Damme are just dusty-sounding names from dad's VHS collection .
The stars from the film (from left to right)
Phong Giang
The professional stuntman of Chinese-Vietnamese descent was born in Germany in 1985. At the age of eight, he started training in acrobatics in order to imitate his role models from his beloved action films. However, before he began to turn his interest in film into his profession, he gained years of experience in shows and live performances where he showed off his artistic talent. Phong is also one of the co-founders of Reel Deal Action Design.
With his teammates Cha and Can, he has worked as a stuntman on CLOUD ATLAS, HITMAN: AGENT 47 and MOCKINGJAY: PART 2. As an actor, he can be seen, among others, in the well-known and highly praised Netflix series MARCO POLO and in the martial arts film ONE MILLION K(L)ICKS.
Can Aydin
Born and raised in Berlin in 1985, he discovered his passion for cinema at an early age. Films like ROCKY and THE MAN WITH THE DEATH CLAW made a huge impression on him, and the superstar Sylvester Stallone became one of his great role models. In order to eventually get a body as toned as the muscular Hollywood star, Can started wrestling at the age of 6. However, this was only the beginning of a sporting career. He was constantly looking for new sporting challenges, which is why Can Aydin also has impressive skills in boxing, Thai boxing, kickboxing and capoeira.
During all this time, he never gave up his dream of one day becoming a film star. In 2004, he was able to take the first big step in the desired direction: A newspaper advertisement alerted Can to a casting call for stuntmen for the film AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS - and shortly afterwards the agile martial artist found himself alongside international stars like Jackie Chan and Steve Coogan in front of the camera.
In order to properly train for his dream job, he spent three and a half years at a theater school, but then turned back to his great passion, films - and with success. Can not only appeared as a stuntman in mega-productions such as CLOUD ATLAS or PANEM TRIBUTES - MOCKINGJAY: PART 2, but also worked as the main double in the well-known Netflix series MARCO POLO and as an actor alongside one of his great role models Jackie Chan in the Action comedy KUNG FU YOGA.
Since 2012 he has been a member of “Real Deal Action Design”, a team of martial arts artists and choreographers founded by him and his friends who not only appear as stuntmen, but also act and train actors themselves.
However, everything is made even more impressive by the fact that, in addition to sports and acting, he also completed training at Mercedes Benz and studied mechanical engineering in Berlin in order to have security.
Eugene “U-Gin” Boateng
Born in 1985, he grew up with his seven siblings and his parents from Ghana on Kieferstrasse, which became famous for its squatters and the RAF. From this environment, consisting of over 45 nationalities from different social classes, U-Gin developed his inspiration and creativity for dancing. Although he only started training at the age of 19, he immediately won battles in nightclubs and took part in dance theater productions. U-Gin's father actually wanted his son to study medicine, but U-Gin couldn't give up his passion for dancing and followed his instinct - with great success. His career began with victory on the show “VIVA Dancestar”, where he won an apartment in Berlin.
There followed numerous appearances in music videos by well-known artists such as Kool Savas, MIA and Jan Delay. Through some very good contacts he managed to become part of megastar Beyonce's tour.
U-Gin worked on his acting skills in theater-dance productions and with various lecturers who supported him in learning and improving singing, acting and directing. He got roles in various films such as ROBERT ZIMMERMANN WONDERS ABOUT LOVE, DÖRTE'S DANCING, LOVE MAKES SEXY and BECK'S LAST SUMMER. He also owed his role in PLAN B – SHIT ON PLAN A to the success of the latter production.
Cha Lee Yoon
Because his father was a trainer and head of a taekwondo school, Cha, born Jung-Hyun Yoon in Osnabrück in 1985, was introduced to martial arts at the age of 3. He has been training in martial arts for over 20 years now and can therefore call himself a master.
Cha was interested in martial arts films with Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan at an early age and absorbed the many different fighting styles and techniques. In order to be able to follow his role models later, he learned as many martial arts as possible. He masters, among other things, kickboxing, Wing Tsun, Hap Ki Do and tricking.
In 2006, Cha moved to Berlin with his girlfriend - without knowing anyone there and without major financial reserves. Through his interest in martial arts and acting, he met like-minded people online to train with. In 2012 he founded “Reel Deal Action Design” together with Can Aydin and others. From then on his dream took on realistic features. Cha worked as a stuntman in major productions such as CLOUD ATLAS, SKYFALL, PANEM TRIBUTES - MOCKINGJAY: PART 1 and HITMAN: AGENT 47. He also demonstrated his acting skills together with Can Aydin in the short films EVIL TWIN and BAD CHOICE.
