Director Matto Barfuss is known to the general public as the “Cheetah Man”; he lived with a wild cheetah family in Tanzania for over 25 weeks between 1996 and 2002. In 2013, another predator would change his life: Barfuss met the cheetah Maleika, who gave birth to six cubs the following year... from now on the filmmaker never left her side. We are giving away a total of two DVDs for the home cinema release of MALEIKA on October 9th. The story
The cheetah Maleika gave birth to six cubs: Martha, Malte, Mirelèe, Marlo, who loves climbing, Mia and clumsy Majet. With their shaggy neck mane they look like punks, and every day the little ones become bolder and braver. Life is still a game for the young cheetahs and they are protected by their mother Maleika. Each new challenge takes the cheetah children a little further towards independence. But the wilderness holds many dangers for even the fastest hunters on earth. Every adventure could be the last. We are there as the rascals grow up, accompanying them on their first trip with their mother, the exciting training to become hunters and on their way to new adventures.
