The story

It's the 50s, Richard and Mildred are very much in love with each other. But Mildred's skin color makes a love relationship impossible. In the eyes of the other white people, the two do not belong together, regardless of the strong affection they feel for each other.
Black-white marriage is illegal in their native Virginia, so the couple travels to the more liberal Washington DC. By getting married, they want to show everyone that they belong together forever, even officially.
But the joy only lasts for a short time. Upon their return, they are punished for their actions with hostility and hatred; When the police arrest them, they are given a choice: a separate life in Virginia or a life together away from their home, their families and their friends.
The two had to make many sacrifices for the recognition of their marriage, which is now enshrined as a fundamental right. After nine difficult years, her case finally ended up before the US Supreme Court in 1967...

The competition has ended and the winners will receive an email from us. If nothing happens this time, the next competition is already waiting for you!
