The story
Our parents always told us that we are unique. You lied.
The Schalckwyck family lives in a wealthy district of Berlin; mother Krista and father Michael want to offer their children Karl and Anna every opportunity. The twins are about to graduate from high school. While the ambitious Anna already knows exactly how she wants her life to turn out, Karl prefers to devote all his attention to his blog “The language of many others”. There he also posts personal photos of his own family, which puts Karl's relationship with his father to the test.
When Karl falls in love with his new classmate Doro, he finally thinks he knows what he wants. Doro also takes a liking to her stubborn and rebellious classmate, but dumps him after a short affair. It is now clear to Karl: Nothing is truthful, everything is arbitrary. Disillusioned, he begins a dangerous game. He publishes an intimate video of himself and Doro, and increasingly lets his followers take power over his life - in the end even over life and death...
