Kseniya Safronova
Master in Journalism at Novosibirsk State University
I'm doing my master's degree here in Russia because I don't have money to study in Germany. If I had the opportunity, I would choose a master's degree in communication science - that doesn't exist in Russia.
German plays a big role for me. I learned German for three years at the Goethe Institute, and parallel to my studies I also completed two internships in Germany - at Bayerischer Rundfunk and Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg.
My dream job? Journalist at a German broadcasting company. I feel very comfortable in Germany and much better than here in Russia. Germany is like a second home for me.
That’s what I especially love about Siberia…
...natural organic food.
“Typically” Russian food that I can’t do without even abroad is…
…real quark and buckwheat.
Helps against homesickness...
…Skype.
My best experience so far was…
…my internship at Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb).
What I like to do after college is…
…Yoga.
My advice for German students who are also considering doing their master's abroad is...
…no fear! This is an irreplaceable experience.
