The story
Since he terrorized the small American town of Haddonfield with a brutal series of murders 40 years ago, Michael Myers (Nick Castle) has been imprisoned in a psychiatric institution, isolated from the outside world. When he was about to be transferred along with other highly dangerous inmates, a catastrophe happened: the prisoner transport had an accident on the street at night, allowing him to escape. Driven by his bestial urge to murder, Myers sets off for Haddonfield and the horrific nightmare begins anew for the residents. Only Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis), who narrowly escaped the masked killer, is prepared to face evil personified...
40 years after John Carpenter rewrote the horror movie rules and changed the genre forever with Halloween, the master of horror joins forces with Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, The Purge series) as executive producer and creative consultant. , the leading producer of original horror films, for a story that follows on from the 1978 original. Carpenter is also once again responsible for composing the iconic music. It is directed by the multi-talented David Gordon Green, an expert in fleshed out characters (last seen in Stronger), who co-wrote the screenplay with Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley and, like Carpenter and Curtis, serves as executive producer.

Haddonfield, Illinois, Halloween 1963.
Six-year-old Michael Myers enters his older sister Judith's room wearing a clown mask and carrying a kitchen knife and kills her with several stabs. The background to his terrible act? Inexplicable. After being admitted to Smith's Grove Warren County Sanatorium, psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis to look into the boy's soul.
His diagnosis is as clear as it is shocking: there is pure evil in Michael that must remain locked up under all circumstances. At all costs. But soon Dr. Loomis realize that evil cannot be kept behind bars.
15 years later, Michael breaks out of the sanatorium on the evening before Halloween and steals Dr. Loomis' car and returns to Haddonfield to continue his bloody deeds armed with several knives and a white mask he stole along the way.
In Haddonfield, young Laurie Strode suddenly feels persecuted. Again and again she sees a scary man with a white mask who disappears without a trace the next moment. It's all just their imagination, their friends Annie and Lynda diagnose and look forward to the upcoming Halloween evening.
Laurie doesn't spend this time partying on the streets of Haddonfield, but rather earns her money as Tommy Doyle's babysitter. And although Annie should do the same with neighbor's child Lindsey, a night with her boyfriend sounds much more tempting, so she leaves Laurie with another child to look after. What they don't know: Michael Myers is quietly and secretly watching the whole thing.
In the meantime, Dr. Loomis arrives in Haddonfield and tries at all costs to find Michael and stop him from murdering. Together with the local Sheriff Brackett, he drives through the streets to find the masked killer.
But you can't stop pure evil. First Michael kills Annie, then Lynda and her boyfriend. When Laurie goes to check on her friends and discovers their bodies, he seems to have immediately located his next victim. But Laurie isn't ready to let herself be killed so easily.
A bitter fight for survival follows in which Laurie and Michael suffer numerous injuries, but the killer ultimately seems to win. But then Dr. Loomis and fires six pistol shots at Michael, whereupon he falls from a balcony and remains lifeless on the ground.
Laurie collapses in fear of death and can even be rescued by her rescuer, Dr. Loomis cannot be reassured. She had the encounter with the black man and will never be able to forget it. And it certainly won't be the last either.
Because when Loomis wants to examine Michael Myers' body again, he has disappeared without a trace...
