The story
The gifted pianist Dr. In 1962, Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali) goes on a concert tour from New York to the southern states. His driver is Italian-American Tony Lip (Viggo Mortensen), a simple working-class man who makes a living doing odd jobs and as a bouncer. The contrast between the two couldn't be greater. Nevertheless, a close friendship develops. Together they go through a time marked by violence and racial separation, but at the same time a lot of humor and true humanity. So they have to plan their trip according to the Negro Motorist Green Book, a travel guide for African-American drivers that lists the few accommodations and restaurants that also serve black guests.
