Competition for the cinema success: “So close to the stars”
So, do you want some interplanetary cinema fun? Then you can't miss the new star in the cinema sky! The 2-hour science fiction film is refreshingly different and catapults the classic love story between young adults into completely new spheres.
That's what the film is about
In the not too distant future, humans will have colonized the red planet. The Martian-born Gardner Elliot (Asa Butterfield) meets the earthly Tulsa (Britt Robertson) from Oklahoma in a chat room - they both hit it off right away. For fear of her reaction, Gardner doesn't tell her about his origins, but vows to finally break out of the isolation into which he was born and return to his home planet.
The arduous journey does not immediately end well: Not only does Gardner hope to meet Tulsa in person soon, Gardner also wants to finally get to know his father, who remained on Earth. Back on the blue mother planet, NASA scientist Nathaniel Shepherd (Gary Oldman) doubts the Martian's health and wants to keep him in his care. But Gardner is full of the urge to discover and a short time later he finally meets Tulsa, with whom he goes on an exciting road trip and discovers the earth. But it's not that simple: Gardner isn't used to the terrestrial atmosphere...
Review: This is how we found it
Man meets woman, both fall in love, dramatic escalation and argument, the great reconciliation and in the end peace, joy, pancakes - this or something similar is what Scheme F of the classic romance looks like. “So Close to the Stars” is refreshingly different – there is love, fun, excitement, action, romance, beautiful images and a lot to get excited about. A colorful mix of everything you would expect from a great film.
Recommended for everyone for whom the classic love story is far too boring: “So close to the stars” gives the phrase “love is an adventure” a whole new meaning. Absolute must-see!
