With its 38,000 members, ELSA is the world's largest independent law student association. ELSA promotes international exchange, diverse legal education and personal career advancement for law students and young lawyers and legal scholars whose particular interest is in international affairs. Law students can make contacts here from the first semester until they start working life.
ELSA operates through its local representations (local groups) at around 300 law faculties in 41 European countries.
