The story
A future king is born in the endless expanses of Africa: Simba, the lively lion cub, idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and can hardly wait to become king himself. But his uncle Scar has his own plans to take the throne and forces Simba to leave the kingdom and go into exile. With the help of a boisterous meerkat named Timon and his warm-hearted warthog friend Pumbaa, Simba learns to grow up, accept responsibility and return to his father's land to claim his place on the King's Rock.
Hakuna Matata!
In keeping with the warm season, we have come up with three cool life hacks that will help you get through the summer relaxed and stress-free - like Timon and Pumbaa - according to the motto “Hakuna Matata”:
Cool drinks
When it's 30 degrees in the shade, one thing shouldn't be forgotten: drink a lot! But how do drinks stay cool in these hot temperatures? Here are three hacks:
- Layer wisely: Try to stack the drinks as tightly as possible so that the surface to be cooled remains as small as possible.
- Use nature: When picnicking outdoors, always keep your eyes open for a stream or lake and use the cold water to cool off.
- Dig a hole: No joke! The deeper you dig the hole, the longer the drinks stay cool. Additional tip: Dig the hole again and remember the spot carefully ;-)
Fresh air
When it gets really hot outside, it quickly becomes stuffy inside. Here are the tips on how to ventilate properly and keep the warm air outside:
- Ventilate early in the morning or late in the evening when the air outside is still cool!
- Less is more: It is generally better to use “shock ventilation”, which means opening several windows completely for a short period of time instead of just tilting them over a long period of time.
- Fan: Although the propeller does not produce cool air, it does make the existing air move, which certainly gives the feeling of fresh air and cools the body.
Aids for sunburn
Who doesn't know it: the sunscreen is applied and the sunbathing can begin. But many people underestimate the power of the sun, which often leads to painful sunburn. But what really helps? With the following home remedies the pain will go away in no time:
- Quark: The milk product is said to have a soothing and cooling effect. Mixed with a little honey, the skin is additionally cared for.
- Aloe Vera: There are many products with the cooling active ingredient of the medicinal plant in the pharmacy. If you freeze the creams or gels as ice cubes, it offers twice the freshness kick.
- Water march! If you have a sunburn, you should drink a lot. This not only stimulates the regeneration process of the skin, it can also make up for the loss of fluids and get the circulation going.
