What's going on in the film?
In the early 19th century, the aspiring author Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) falls in love with a mysterious stranger: Sir Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston), whom she marries shortly afterwards.
She moves with him to a remote castle, where his sister Lady Lucille (Jessica Chastain) is often present. Edith soon realizes that not everything is going well on the property and gets to the bottom of her new husband's dark past. But supernatural events occur that threaten Edith's life.
