50 years after its premiere, Luis Buñuel's cult film with Catherine Deneuve as BELLE DE JOUR is coming back to cinemas. As a birthday present to all of us, it was extensively restored and digitized. Belle de Jour was Buñuel's first color film and his most commercially successful. He won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. We are giving away 1x DVD and 1x Blu-Ray for the film. The story
The beautiful, young Séverine lives a seemingly normal, upper-class life alongside her hard-working husband Pierre. While she denies herself sexually to her husband, she lets her imagination run wild in masochistic obsessions. After accidentally finding out the address of a brothel from an acquaintance, she begins a double life and works there on an hourly basis under the name “Belle de jour”. One day the gangster Marcel, a suitor who has fallen in love with her, follows her home and shoots her unsuspecting husband out of jealousy. Although he survives, he remains both blind and paralyzed, and is subsequently lovingly cared for by Séverine.
