Prodigies of this world

There have been quite a few child prodigies in this world. We would like to introduce you to some of them here:

The unique virtuoso: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Mozart, born in Salzburg in 1756, is THE epitome of a child prodigy. He had already mastered playing the piano perfectly at the age of three, Mozart composed his first piece of music when he was just five years old, and he was performing in front of an audience when he was just six years old. His father recognized little Wolfgang's musical genius very early on and encouraged him. Mozart, who was truly addicted to music, managed to climb the career ladder at breakneck speed. At the tender age of 13 he was appointed concertmaster by the Archbishop of Salzburg, he received lucrative commissions for compositions and was a celebrated star in large parts of Europe. But as the money came in, Mozart also threw it out the window. His lavish lifestyle often brought the virtuoso into financial difficulties, but the fact that he died completely impoverished at the age of less than 36 is still not true. But Mozart's eventful life and work was definitely enough for the creation of extensive legends.

The eccentric King of Pop: Michael Jackson

Hundreds of millions of records sold, countless awards, known all over the world: Michael Jackson is one of, if not THE, most successful entertainer of all time. Even as a child, the superstar celebrated huge successes with his brothers as “The Jackson Five”, which he was able to top with his later solo career. Almost everyone knows hits like “Beat It”, “Thriller”, “Bad” or “Black or White”. That Michael Jackson's early and ongoing success came at the expense of his childhood, however, is the other side of the coin. His father Joseph groomed him to be a music star from a very young age and never had the opportunity to enjoy his youth without any worries. Jackson's place was always in the spotlight - and it left its mark. Michael Jackson's ride on the roller coaster of life reached its sad climax on June 25, 2009, when the musician, who went down in history as the "King of Pop", died of a drug overdose.

The brilliant scientist: Marie Curie

Marie Curie remains the only woman to have received multiple Nobel Prizes and one of two people to have received awards in different fields (physics and chemistry). The brilliant researcher of Polish origin discovered the chemical elements polonium and radium together with her husband Pierre and also coined the term “radioactive”. It was clear early on that she had the potential for a remarkable career. Born Marie Skłodowska in Warsaw as the youngest of five children of a teacher couple, she graduated from high school with honors at just 15 years old. Since women in Poland were not allowed to attend university at the time and there were no financial resources available to study abroad, Marie had to wait until 1891 until she had the opportunity to enroll at the world-famous Sorbonne in Paris. Despite the fact that she was an exotic woman in the field of science and that she struggled with language problems, Marie Curie established herself as an absolute luminary. A remarkable woman with an equally remarkable career.

The genius nerd: Bill Gates

When it comes to wealth, only Scrooge McDuck is ahead of Bill Gates. With an estimated fortune of $72 billion, the Microsoft founder is probably the richest person in the world. But his success doesn't come from just anywhere, but is the result of an extraordinary talent that Bill Gates impressively demonstrated at an early age. Even in elementary school, Gates outperformed everyone else in math and science, and later, when he was just 13 years old, he taught a calculator the computer language BASIC. Gates also wrote his first computer program, a virtual Tic-Tac-Toe version, as a young man on one of these simple machines. As a technology nerd and genius, the future billionaire was so talented that he was only 14 years old and was able to found his first successful company. However, Gates achieved his big coup with the company Microsoft, which he founded in 1975. To this day, this company is inextricably linked to the establishment of the personal computer - and prodigy Bill Gates is therefore one of the most important people of the digital age.

The extraordinary athlete: Lionel Messi

Argentina's economic crisis and high medical costs are the reason why the world can enjoy the magic of Lionel Messi on the football field. In order to receive treatment for their son, who was too small due to a hormonal disorder, Messi's parents left their home country of Argentina for Spain when little Lionel was just 13 years old. Once there, they turned to FC Barcelona to get their son, who was extremely talented on the ball, a contract that would cover the costs. The Catalan club's coaches were immediately impressed by Lionel Messi's outstanding ball skills and promptly signed him. The rest is football history: In 2004, the magical dwarf made his debut in the FC Barcelona first team, his first goal followed in 2005, in the same year he became an Argentina national team player, scored his first World Cup goal in 2006 at the age of 18, became Olympic champion in 2008, won until 2008 To date, he has won the Champions League four times, the Spanish championship eight times and has been named world footballer five times - and these are just a few episodes of Lionel Messi's impressive career. At 30, the filligran technician certainly still has a few good years ahead of him - a hope that every football fan has.
