In the enchanting road movie MOMENTS: FACES OF A JOURNEY, an unlikely couple - the Nouvelle Vague legend Agnès Varda and the street artist JR - embark on a journey to capture France's faces and stories in larger-than-life images and take a poetic and amusing look on life. The story
The 89-year-old director icon Agnès Varda and the 33-year-old street artist JR set out with their unique photomobile to discover and immortalize France's people and their stories: in larger-than-life portraits on facades, trains and shipping containers. From Provence to Normandy, they dedicate their art to people - be it the postman, the factory worker or the last resident of a street in a former mining area. Landscapes transform into stages, faces tell of forgotten stories and looks become encounters of warmth and humor.
Nouvelle Vague legend Agnès Varda and photographer JR share not only their passion for images, but also a keen sense of people and the poetry of the moment. MOMENTS: FACES OF A TRIP is a cinematic stroke of luck that captures the touching encounters of a journey with a special lightness - just like the unlikely and tender friendship that develops between the two artists. MOMENTS: FACES OF A JOURNEY celebrated its world premiere at Cannes 2017, where it was awarded Best Documentary.
