On the banks of the holy rivers
Millions of people. 55 days. 3 rivers. 1 pilgrimage.
It is the largest religious festival in the world: Kumbh Mela. Every twelve years, millions of Hindus go on a pilgrimage to cleanse themselves of their sins in a bath and free themselves from the cycle of reincarnation. The director Pan Nalin traveled to the three holy rivers in 2013. In his documentary film “On the Banks of the Holy Rivers” he tells the story of the pilgrims in all its moving, happy and dramatic facets.
